This year marks an incredible milestone for Severn Edge Farm Vets as we celebrate 30 years of service from our esteemed colleague, Chris Woodruff. Chris has been an integral part of our team since day one, and his contribution to the practice and the wider farming community is nothing short of exceptional.

From the moment Chris joined Severn Edge Farm Vets, his hard work, enthusiasm, and unwavering dedication have set the standard for excellence in veterinary care. Over the years, Chris has become a trusted name among farmers across the region, known not only for his professional expertise but also for his approachable nature and genuine care for clients and their animals.

One of Chris’s greatest strengths is his breadth of knowledge across the industry. Whether it’s cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, camelids or poultry, Chris brings a wealth of experience and practical insight to every case. His ability to combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of farming realities has made him an invaluable resource for clients and colleagues alike. In particular, Chris is widely recognized as the go-to person for all things poultry and game bird related, heading up the game bird division with Susan Carr. His specialist knowledge in this area has helped countless farmers improve flock health, productivity, and welfare. Whether advising on biosecurity, nutrition, or disease prevention, Chris’s guidance has always been rooted in sound science and practical solutions that work on the ground.

Beyond his technical skills, Chris has built strong relationships with our clients over the years. His popularity is a testament to his approachable manner, clear communication, and genuine passion for helping farmers succeed. Many of our clients see Chris not just as a vet, but as a trusted partner in their business—a role he has embraced wholeheartedly.

Inside the practice, Chris is equally respected by his colleagues. His willingness to share knowledge and mentor others has helped shape the next generation of farm vets, ensuring that his legacy will continue for years to come. Chris heads up the beef club with Megan Burgess, ensuring that monthly newsletters are distributed to members & engaging talks are put on throughout the year.

As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to Chris. Your commitment to Severn Edge Farm Vets and the farming community has been extraordinary. You’ve helped us grow, adapt, and thrive through three decades of change in the industry, and your contribution cannot be overstated.

Here’s to you, Chris—thank you for 30 years of outstanding service. We look forward to many more years of working alongside you and continuing to benefit from your expertise, enthusiasm, and dedication.
